Here at Staff Partners Mental Health, we have an exciting opportunity for a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist in Older Adults to work within an NHS service in South Wales.
Job Description:
This role is a full-time Locum position based in South Wales. You will be working at an Older Adults Inpatient service for patients with mental illness.
The postholder will be expected to be involved in the management of complex patients. The clinical leadership of the team falls within the postholder’s remit, however there are other colleagues available to provide support. The postholder will be involved as appropriate with patient referral and admissions. The postholder will be involved in Care plan and treatment formulation, guidance on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness. The postholder will be involved closely with liaison and collaborative working with other services within and without the Directorate and at times the UHB as well as other agencies. This will involve multi-disciplinary, multi-agency and partnership working. As a Consultant in this area, the postholder will be expected to take their full part in the Mental Health Act implementation. The post holder will undertake Functional and Memory clinics in community including home visits when required.Key responsibilities:
- Lead an MDT of Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers, OT and Specialty Dr’s
- Active role in service and development activities
- Participate in Governance and Service Line meetings
- Taking clinical responsibility for patients
- Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician
- Supervising the process of referrals and admissions
- Take part in medical related audits
Job Requirements:
- GMC with a licence to practise
- Approved Clinician status
- Section 12 approval
- MBSS qualification
