Here at Staff Partners Mental Health, we have an exciting opportunity for Specialty Psychiatrist General Doctor to work within an Independent Hospital in Denbighshire, Wales.
Job Description:
This role is a full-time Locum position based in Denbighshire, Wales. You will be working in an Adult Inpatient for patients with mental illness.Key responsibilities:
- Provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with general adult mental health conditions.
- Work collaboratively within a full Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) including nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, and social workers.
- Participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings, and risk management discussions.
- Develop and implement care plans in line with national guidelines and Trust policies.
- Lead and support the clinical team with expert psychiatric input under the guidance of the consultant psychiatrist.
- Carry out Mental Health Act assessments – Section 12 Approval is mandatory.
- Ensure accurate documentation and timely completion of reports, discharge summaries, and care records.
- Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, and peer reviews.
- Provide support and supervision to junior medical staff and trainees if applicable.
Job Requirements:
- GMC Full Registration
- Section 12 Approval (Mandatory)
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team within an NHS or similar healthcare setting
- Strong clinical decision-making and risk assessment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to patient-centered care and professional development
