Here at Staff Partners Mental Health, we have an exciting opportunity for Consultant Psychiatrist for CAMHS Services for a private hospital based in Chelmsford.
Experience:
The postholder will hold a CCST / CCT (or equivalent) in the relevant areas of Psychiatry and will have experience of working in inpatient settings with people with significant mental health difficulties.Job Description:
It is a private hospital known for its calming, recovery-focused environment. We offer high-quality residential, day care and outpatient services for up to 56 service users – including a new dedicated ‘Private’ CAMHS service for young people.
Roles within this job family are dedicated to providing high quality clinical care for patients referred to and using the servies of the hospital. Works closely with multi disciplinary teams to ensure that clients receive a holistic and personcentric care and treatment programme based on the recovery model.
As a Private CAMHS Consultant, you will be at the forefront of psychiatric care, offering inpatient treatment and clinical leadership in our private adolescent mental health unit. You will work closely with our dedicated Multidisciplinary Team to ensure safe and effective service delivery. Your responsibilities will include:Responsibilities:
- Serving as the Consultant and Responsible Clinician within the Multidisciplinary Team
- Taking overall responsibility for patient care and treatment plans
- Assessment and management of cases collaborating with patients, carers and external stakeholders
- Chairing MDT/CPA Meetings and adhering to organizational admission and discharge policies
- Contributing to unit governance through expertise and leadership
- Assessment and management of outpatient cases collaborating with patients, carers, therapists and external stakeholders
- Offering Clinical Leadership in collaboration with the Ward Manager
- Ensuring the ward complies with organizational and regulatory requirements
- Active participation in ward governance meetings and organizational quality improvement initiatives and service development
- Attending Monthly CAMHS governance meetings
- Attending regular Outpatient CAMHS MDT meetings and involvement in service development
- Participating in monthly Academic meetings
- Delivering case presentations and teaching
- Engaging in audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives
- Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews and the development of a therapeutic milieu.
- Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
- Supervising the process of referral and admission including contributing to preadmission assessments of young people with other team members.
- Offering a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to the assessment, formulation and treatment of young people.
- Contributing to management meetings and clinical governance meetings for the services provided at the hospital, and contributing to the development of service strategy.
- Contributing to inhouse training programmes within the services and offering supervision to other members of the multi disciplinary team, particularly junior medical staff.
- Maintaining CPD and revalidation requirements, as determined by the Royal College of Psychiatrists or other relevant statutory bodies.
- Contributing to the development and evaluation of services in collaboration with the Lead Consultant and Clinical Service Manager.
- Ensures the services and support provide offers good value for money and supports the overall aim of the site.
Job Requirements:
- MBBS or equivalent Medical Degree and MRCPsych
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice
- Registration on the specialist register with CAMHS CCT/CESR, along with valid AC Status
- Experience and knowledge in CAMHS
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, as well as the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice
- Commitment to continued professional development
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
