Permanent | Part-Time (20 Hours Per Week)
Private Residential Mental Health Service | Leicestershire Area
Salary: £60,000 per annum (pro rata for part-time hours)Staff Partners – Mental Health Division are currently recruiting for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a brand-new, nurse-led residential service in the Leicestershire area, supporting individuals with complex mental health needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping and developing a pioneering service, providing high-quality, recovery-focused care within a therapeutic residential setting.
???? About the Service
The service supports adults with complex mental health presentations within a psychologically informed, recovery-oriented environment. Care is delivered through a personalised, multidisciplinary approach focused on safety, dignity, and long-term wellbeing.
???? The Role
As Consultant Psychiatrist, you will:
Take overall clinical responsibility for a defined caseload
Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds, complex risk reviews, and CPA meetings
Act as Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act 1983
Ensure statutory compliance and high-quality clinical decision-making
Provide specialist psychiatric assessment, formulation, and evidence-based treatment
Offer expert guidance and consultation to the multidisciplinary team
Oversee referral, admission, and discharge pathways
Lead on safeguarding, risk management, and continuity of care planning
Contribute to service development, audit, teaching, supervision, and research
You will provide strong clinical leadership while helping to embed a safe and psychologically informed therapeutic culture within the service.
✅ What We’re Looking For
CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Psychiatry (or equivalent)
Full GMC registration with licence to practise in the UK
Substantial experience managing complex mental health conditions within NHS or equivalent settings
Strong working knowledge of NICE guidelines and UK mental health legislation, including the Mental Health Act
Expertise in psychopharmacology, risk assessment, and evidence-based interventions
Proven leadership experience within multidisciplinary teams
Experience contributing to audit, service development, and training
Resilience, sound clinical judgement, and excellent communication skills are essential.
