Staff Partners Mental Health is currently recruiting for an experienced Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist (CYPMHS) to join a well-established private inpatient service in the Surrey area.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide clinical leadership within a specialist 12-bed General Adolescent Inpatient Unit, supporting young people aged 13–18 experiencing acute mental health difficulties requiring inpatient treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and management of young people admitted to the unit.
- Lead formulation and treatment planning in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
- Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medication in line with NICE guidelines.
- Conduct ward rounds, CPA reviews, and Mental Health Act assessments.
- Liaise with families, carers, community services, social care, and education providers.
- Provide clinical leadership for complex cases, risk management, and safeguarding concerns.
- Participate in service development, clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support and supervise junior medical staff.
- Participate in the consultant on-call rota.

You will work alongside an experienced team including:

- Social Workers
- Family Therapists
- Education Staff
- Junior Doctors
Requirements
- Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise.
- On the GMC Specialist Register in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry or within 6 months of CCT.
- Extensive CYPMHS experience, including inpatient settings.
- Strong leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary team-working skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and trauma-informed care.
