Salary: Competitive + Excellent BenefitsStaff Partners - Mental Health are recruiting for a Consultant Child and Young People Psychiatrist to join a specialist inpatient Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service in the Surrey area.
This is an excellent opportunity to provide clinical leadership within a 12-bed General Adolescent Inpatient Unit, supporting young people aged 13–18 years with acute mental health needs. Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, you will deliver evidence-based, trauma-informed care while helping young people and their families achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist psychiatric assessments, diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Act as Responsible Clinician, undertaking Mental Health Act duties and leading MDT meetings.
- Deliver clinical leadership within the inpatient CAMHS service.
- Participate in clinical governance, audits and service development.
- Supervise and support junior doctors and multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with education, social care and external agencies to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognised by the GMC.
- Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practise.
- GMC Specialist Register in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (or within six months of CCT).
- Approved Clinician Status or eligibility to obtain.
- Significant experience working within inpatient CAMHS.
- Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act, safeguarding legislation and evidence-based psychiatric practice.
- Excellent leadership, communication and multidisciplinary working skills.
