Staff Partners Mental Health is currently recruiting for an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist in Rehabilitation Psychiatry to join a well-established specialist neurological and rehabilitation service in the Cambridgeshire area.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist with experience in acquired brain injury, neurodegenerative disorders, and complex mental health presentations to join a highly skilled multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and rehabilitation outcomes.

The Role

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will:

• Provide expert psychiatric care to individuals with acquired brain injuries, neurodegenerative conditions, and complex mental and physical health needs
• Lead clinical decision-making and oversee treatment planning for patients within a specialist rehabilitation setting
• Conduct assessments of referrals and contribute to admission decisions
• Attend Care and Treatment Reviews, Mental Health Review Tribunals, and Managers' Hearings
• Chair multidisciplinary team meetings and support the Care Programme Approach process
• Work collaboratively with external stakeholders to facilitate successful community reintegration and discharge planning
• Ensure the effective administration of the Mental Health Act and adherence to clinical governance standards
• Contribute to audits, service development initiatives, and quality improvement projects
• Provide supervision, mentorship, and training to junior medical staff and multidisciplinary colleagues
• Participate in the consultant on-call rota alongside a supportive team of experienced psychiatrists

Requirements

• Fully qualified medical practitioner with MRCPsych or equivalent qualification
• Strong experience working within rehabilitation, neuropsychiatry, acquired brain injury, or complex mental health services
• Excellent communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive service improvements
• Sound knowledge of mental health legislation, clinical governance, and current psychiatric practice
• Previous Consultant experience is desirable
• Previous management or leadership experience is advantageous
