Salary: £32,000 – £42,400 per annum (pro rata)Staff Partners – Mental Health Division are recruiting for a Family (CAMHS) Therapist to join a private hospital in the Chelmsford area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with children, adolescents, and their families, delivering evidence-based family therapy within a supportive multidisciplinary team.
???? About the Service
The hospital provides residential, day care, and outpatient mental health services for young people and adults. The service is recovery-focused, offering a calm and therapeutic environment supported by a highly experienced team of consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and therapists.
???? The Role as a Family (CAMHS) Therapist, you will:
Provide therapeutic support and interventions to children, adolescents, and their families
Facilitate family therapy sessions to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships
Collaborate with the CAMHS multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
Assess family dynamics and identify factors affecting the young person’s mental health and wellbeing
Offer guidance and support to families to promote coping strategies and resilience during inpatient treatment
Assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of patient care plans
Contribute to the overall recovery-focused culture of the service
This role requires resilience, empathy, and strong communication skills to work effectively with complex family systems and adolescent mental health challenges.

Strong foundation in psychological theories and family therapy techniques
Proven experience working with children, adolescents, and families in clinical or community settings
Ability to assess diverse family structures and cultural backgrounds
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate trust and open dialogue
Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary mental health teams
Problem-solving skills, emotional resilience, and commitment to ongoing professional development
