Salary: £38,600 per annum (30 hours) / £19,300 per annum (15 hours)Staff Partners – Mental Health Division are recruiting for a Registered Psychologist to join a private hospital in the Hertfordshire area. This is an exciting opportunity to work within an acute service ward, providing high-quality, person-centred psychological care as part of a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team.
???? About the Role
You will work alongside a team of qualified psychologists, assistant and trainee psychologists, art therapists, and positive behaviour practitioners, collaborating closely with colleagues in Psychiatry, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, and Social Work. The hospital provides a high-dependency rehabilitation environment with specialist recovery pathways.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions (e.g., CBT, ACT, DBT, systemic, or psychodynamic approaches) for adults with complex mental health needs
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to inform care planning, risk management, and treatment reviews
Provide consultation, supervision, and training to colleagues, trainees, and other professionals
Maintain high standards of clinical governance, including accurate record-keeping, adherence to ethical guidelines, and participation in audit, research, and service evaluation
Contribute to service development and innovation, using data and patient feedback to improve outcomes
Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) to maintain HCPC registration and best practice
✅ What We’re Looking For
Recognised postgraduate qualification in Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychology
Registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC
Experience or interest in working with adults with complex mental health needs, including trauma, psychosis, and personality difficulties
Competence in at least one therapeutic modality; confidence in delivering both individual and group interventions
Trauma-informed, recovery-focused, and person-centred approach
Strong assessment, formulation, and clinical reasoning skills
Newly qualified psychologists are welcome to apply. Experience within acute mental health settings is desirable but not essential.
