Here at Staff Partners Mental Health, we have an exciting opportunity for a Specialty Dr in Adult Psychiatry to work within an established private hospital in Derby.
Job Description:
An opportunity for a permanent, full-time Specialty Doctor to shape services on a female low secure personality disorder unit – while being fully supported by a Consultant Psychiatrist and first-class multidisciplinary team.
The ward is a 16 bed specialist low secure service for women with a primary diagnosis of emotionally unstable personality disorder. The ward can support women with highly complex needs and those who have experienced previously unsuccessful placements.
Key responsibilities:
Provide high quality treatment under the supervision of a Consultant
Weekly ward rounds and MDT meetings
Participate in Governance and Service Line meetings
Audit medical services and ensure compliance with professional guidelines
Assess referrals and mental examinations of patients
Job Requirements:
Fully GMC registered & MBBS (or equivalent) qualified
Experienced within a mental health setting
Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Knowledgeable of mental health legislation & codes of practice
An excellent clinical decision maker, with sound judgement & ability to manage risk
A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess & treat patients & write clear, comprehensive medical notes
Committed to continued professional development
Preferably approved under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act & a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, or equivalent
