Salary: £47,300 – £53,700 per annum

Workplace Type: OnsiteStaff Partners Mental Health is currently recruiting for a Ward Manager – CAMHS on behalf of a private hospital in the Chelmsford area. This is an exciting opportunity to lead an established CAMHS ward supporting young people aged 13–18 within a specialist inpatient setting.
About the Role
As Ward Manager, you will provide strong clinical and operational leadership to the nursing team, ensuring high standards of patient-centred care are delivered at all times. You will oversee the effective day-to-day management of the ward, ensuring safe staffing levels, compliance, and the ongoing development of your team.
This role is ideal for a confident and compassionate leader who is passionate about supporting young people with complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the ward, ensuring effective use of resources
Maintain safe staffing levels, skill mix, rota management, and e-rostering standards
Oversee annual leave planning and training arrangements
Ensure delivery of high-quality, person-centred care
Provide clinical supervision, appraisals, and support CPD for nursing staff
Ensure completion of mandatory training
Address development needs and manage performance issues
Contribute to clinical audit, quality improvement, and service development initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Registered Nurse with active NMC registration
Minimum 2 years’ supervisory/leadership experience in a relevant care setting
Experience within CAMHS or acute mental health services
Trained Assessor/Supervisor
Strong organisational and leadership skills
Experience managing rotas and staffing
Knowledge of clinical audit and service improvement
Resilient, empathetic, and committed to high-quality care
Computer literate and committed to ongoing professional development
